Why is my Audi A2 making a clicking noise when I turn the key?

I recently purchased an Audi A2 and noticed that when I go to start the car, it makes a clicking noise instead of starting up. Can you explain why this is happening and if there is a solution?

Your Audi A2 may be making a clicking noise when you turn the key because the battery connections are loose. I recommend checking the connections and tightening them if necessary.

Another possible cause could be a faulty starter motor. This can be confirmed by testing the starter motor or having a professional mechanic do it for you.

If the car is only making the clicking noise and not turning over at all, it could be a sign of a dead battery. You may need to replace the battery if this is the case.
