Why is my Audi A1 making a humming noise?

I recently purchased a used Audi A1 and I've noticed that it makes a humming noise whenever I accelerate. It's not too loud, but it's definitely noticeable. What could be causing this and should I be worried?

The most common reason for a humming noise in an Audi A1 is worn out wheel bearings. It's important to get this checked out by a mechanic as soon as possible, as driving with worn out wheel bearings can be dangerous.

Another possible reason for the humming noise could be a faulty power steering pump. If you notice any changes in the steering or if the noise gets louder when you turn the steering wheel, it's best to have it checked out.
