Why is my Audi 80 making a strange ticking sound?

I have noticed that my Audi 80 has started making a strange ticking sound whenever I accelerate. It seems to be coming from the engine. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

I would recommend getting your timing belt checked. A worn or loose timing belt can cause a ticking sound. Make sure to have it replaced if needed.

It could also be an issue with your valves. Have them inspected and adjusted if needed.
