I have noticed that my Audi 80 engine has been making a high-pitched noise lately. It seems to be coming from the front of the car and gets louder when I accelerate. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?
ReplyHi Mike, it sounds like you may have a problem with your serpentine belt. This rubber belt helps power many of the engine's accessories, and if it becomes worn or damaged, it can cause a high-pitched noise. You should have it checked and replaced if necessary.
Hey Mike, another possible cause could be an issue with your alternator. If it is failing, it can make a high-pitched noise. I recommend taking your car to a mechanic to have it checked and replaced if needed.
Mike, have you checked your power steering fluid level? If it is low, it can cause your power steering pump to make a high-pitched noise. Try topping off the fluid and see if that helps. If it continues, you may need to have the pump replaced.
