Why does my Audi 80 keep stalling while idling?

I recently purchased a used Audi 80 and noticed that it has a tendency to stall while idling. The check engine light has not turned on, so I am not sure what the issue could be. Can someone please explain why this might be happening?

There could be a few reasons for your Audi 80 stalling while idling. One possibility is a dirty or faulty idle air control valve, which controls the airflow to the engine while idling. Another possibility is a clogged fuel filter, which can cause a lack of fuel reaching the engine. I recommend getting your car checked by a mechanic to diagnose and fix the issue.

I had a similar issue with my Audi 80 and it turned out to be a problem with the spark plugs. They were worn out and not providing enough spark to the engine, resulting in stalling while idling. I suggest checking and replacing your spark plugs if needed.

The idle control sensor could be malfunctioning, causing your Audi 80 to stall while idling. This sensor regulates the amount of fuel and air mixture going into the engine while idling. If it is not functioning properly, your car may stall. I recommend getting this sensor checked and replaced if needed.
