What should I do if my Audi 80's transmission is slipping?

I've noticed that my Audi 80's transmission is starting to slip and I'm not sure what to do. It's an older car, so I'm worried about costly repairs. Any advice on how to address this issue?

Hi Samantha, first of all, don't panic. Slipping transmissions in older cars are not uncommon. Here are a few things you can try before taking it to a mechanic: 1. Check the transmission fluid level and top it off if needed. 2. If the transmission fluid is dark or has a burnt smell, it may need to be flushed and replaced. 3. Make sure there are no vacuum leaks in the transmission lines. If none of these steps improve the slipping, it's best to take it to a trusted mechanic for further diagnosis.

Hey Samantha, I had the same issue with my Audi 80 a few years back. I took it to a mechanic and they found that the transmission filter needed to be replaced. It was a relatively inexpensive fix and it solved the slipping problem. So, make sure to have the filter checked out.
