What should I do if my Audi 80's engine is overheating?

My Audi 80's engine temperature is rising to dangerous levels and I'm afraid it might cause damage. What steps should I take to prevent this?

The first thing you should do is pull over and turn off your engine. Let it cool down for a few minutes before opening the hood to check the coolant levels. If the coolant is low, refill it with a mixture of 50% water and 50% antifreeze.

If the coolant level is normal, check for any obstructions in the radiator or around the hoses. Sometimes leaves or debris can block the airflow causing the engine to overheat. Remove any debris and continue driving, but be sure to monitor the temperature closely.
