What is the recommended oil type for a 1993 Audi 80?

I recently purchased a 1993 Audi 80 and am unsure what type of oil to use. It has a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine and I want to make sure I am using the correct oil for optimal performance.

The recommended oil for a 1993 Audi 80 with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine is a 5W-40 full synthetic oil. This type of oil provides the best protection and performance for your engine.

I have been using a 5W-30 conventional oil in my 1993 Audi 80 and have had no issues. As long as you stay within the recommended viscosity range and change your oil regularly, you should be fine.

I would recommend using a high mileage oil if your 1993 Audi 80 has over 100,000 miles on it. It contains additives that help prevent leaks and reduce engine wear.
