What could be causing my Audi 80's accelerator to stick?

I've been having trouble with my Audi 80's accelerator sticking recently, and it's becoming a safety concern. I've checked the throttle cable and it seems fine, could there be another issue causing this? Any advice is appreciated.

Hi Sophia, there are a few potential causes of a sticking accelerator. It could be due to a malfunctioning throttle position sensor or a dirty throttle body. I'd recommend bringing your car to a mechanic for a diagnostic scan and to have the throttle body cleaned. In the meantime, be sure to regularly check and replace your air filter to prevent any dirt or debris from entering the engine.

Hey Sophia, I had a similar issue with my Audi 80 and it turned out to be a faulty accelerator cable. Have a mechanic check the cable and make sure it's properly lubricated and not frayed or damaged. Also check for any obstructions near the pedal that could be causing it to stick.

Hi Sophia, another potential cause of a sticking accelerator is a worn out throttle body gasket. This can create an air leak and cause the engine to run lean, making the accelerator stick. Make sure to have the gasket replaced if it's worn out and also check for any vacuum leaks in the system.
