Is it necessary to replace the timing belt in my Audi 80?

I have a 1997 Audi 80 and I'm wondering if I need to replace the timing belt. It has 120,000 miles on it and it hasn't been replaced before. I've heard that it's important to replace it to avoid potential engine damage, but I also don't want to spend unnecessary money.

Yes, it is highly recommended to replace the timing belt in your Audi 80. With 120,000 miles on it, it is well past the recommended replacement time and could potentially cause serious engine damage if it were to fail.
