How to troubleshoot the reverse light switch in an Audi 80?

Recently, my Audi 80's reverse lights have been acting up and I suspect it might be an issue with the reverse light switch. I tried looking for solutions online but didn't find any concrete steps on how to troubleshoot this issue. Can anyone provide a step-by-step guide?

First, locate the reverse light switch in your Audi 80. It is usually located near the transmission or on the side of the gearbox. Then, use a multimeter to test the switch for continuity. If the switch shows no continuity, then it needs to be replaced. Make sure to disconnect the negative battery cable before replacing the switch.

Before replacing the reverse light switch, check the fuse and wiring connecting to it. It is possible that the issue is not with the switch itself, but with something else in the circuit. If the fuse or wiring appears to be damaged or faulty, replace them first before moving on to the switch.
