How to fix strange engine noise on an Audi 80?

I have been hearing a weird clicking noise coming from my Audi 80's engine lately. It seems to only happen when the car is idle and disappears when I start driving. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

The strange noise you are hearing could be a sign of a worn out timing belt. If this is the case, it is important to get it replaced as soon as possible to avoid further damage to your engine. I would recommend taking your car to a certified mechanic to have it checked and replaced if needed.

It's possible that the noise is coming from a loose belt or pulley. Check your drive belts and pulleys to make sure they are not loose or misaligned. If you notice any issues, tighten or replace them as needed.
