The most common cause of an overheating engine is a malfunctioning cooling system. Check the radiator, hoses, and water pump for any leaks or damages. It is also advisable to flush and refill the coolant regularly.

Another reason for overheating could be a faulty thermostat. If it is stuck closed, it will prevent the flow of coolant and lead to overheating. Consider replacing the thermostat if necessary.

A clogged or damaged radiator may also be the culprit. Check for debris and dirt, and if necessary, have it professionally cleaned or replaced.
