How to diagnose and fix faulty brakes in an Audi 80?

I've noticed that my Audi 80's brakes are not working properly. When I press down on the pedal, I can hear a grinding noise and it takes longer for the car to come to a complete stop. Does anyone know what could be causing this issue and how I can fix it?

It is possible that your brake pads have worn out and need to be replaced. This is a common issue and can be easily fixed by taking your car to a trusted mechanic.

Another potential cause could be air in the brake lines, which can affect the pressure of the brake pedal. Bleeding the brake lines should fix this problem.
