How often should the transmission oil be changed in an Audi A8?

I just got my Audi A8 and I want to make sure I am properly maintaining it. How often should I change the transmission oil to keep my car running smoothly?

According to Audi's recommended maintenance schedule, the transmission oil should be changed every 40,000 miles or every 4 years, whichever comes first.
