I've been experiencing intermittent engine misfires and suspect that my ignition coil may be failing. How can I diagnose and fix this problem?

First, you'll need to check the resistance of your ignition coil using a multimeter. If the resistance is outside of the manufacturer's specifications, then you'll need to replace the coil.

B

If your coil's resistance is within spec, then you may want to check the spark plug wires and connectors for any damage or corrosion. These can also cause engine misfires.

D

Another possibility is that your ignition control module is failing. If you suspect this, you'll need to take your car to a mechanic for further diagnosis and potentially replacing the module.
