How do I check the transmission fluid in an Audi 80?

I just bought a used Audi 80 and I want to make sure the transmission fluid is at the correct level. How do I go about checking it?

First, locate the transmission fluid dipstick, which is usually labeled with a yellow handle. Pull out the dipstick and wipe it off with a clean cloth. Then, re-insert the dipstick fully and pull it back out. The fluid level should be between the two marks on the dipstick. If it is below the low mark, add transmission fluid as needed. It is recommended to use the specific type of fluid recommended by the manufacturer.

Another way to check the transmission fluid is to start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Then, with the engine still running, pull out the dipstick and check the fluid level. This will give a more accurate reading as the fluid expands when it is warmed up.

Remember to always check the owner's manual for specific instructions and recommendations for your Audi 80. It's important to regularly check and maintain proper transmission fluid levels to ensure smooth and reliable performance.
