How do adaptive cruise control systems work in the Audi 80?

I've heard about adaptive cruise control systems, but I'm not sure how it works in an Audi 80. Could someone explain the technology and its benefits?

Adaptive cruise control allows your Audi 80 to automatically adjust its speed to maintain a safe distance from the car ahead. It uses radar sensors to measure the distance and speed of the vehicle in front of you.

When using adaptive cruise control, it's still important to keep your hands on the steering wheel and be aware of your surroundings. The system is designed to assist you, but it's not a substitute for attentive driving.

The Audi 80's adaptive cruise control also has a stop & go function, allowing it to bring the car to a complete stop and resume driving in traffic. This makes for a smoother and more relaxed driving experience.
