How can I troubleshoot my Audi 80's faulty headlights?

My Audi 80's headlights are not working properly. Sometimes they turn on but then randomly turn off while I'm driving. What could be the cause and how can I fix it?

First, check the headlight bulbs. They may be burnt out or loose. If they are fine, then you may have a faulty headlight switch. You can replace it yourself or take it to a mechanic.

Another possible cause is a bad headlight relay. You can test it with a multimeter or just replace it to see if that fixes the issue.

It's also worth checking the fuses for the headlights. If they are blown, you'll need to replace them. Be sure to use the correct fuse size for your Audi 80.
