Why is my Audi 80's engine producing a knocking sound during acceleration?

I have noticed a knocking sound coming from my Audi 80's engine when I accelerate. It seems to be more pronounced when the engine is cold and then decreases as it warms up. What could be causing this and what should I do?

The knocking sound you are hearing is most likely due to a lack of lubrication in the engine. Make sure to check your oil level and top it up if needed. You may also want to consider getting an oil change if it is overdue.

Another possible cause of the knocking sound is a faulty spark plug. Check the spark plugs for any signs of wear or damage and replace them if necessary. It is also important to check for any other potential engine issues that may be causing the knocking.
