Why does the Audi A2 make a high-pitched noise when accelerating?

I've noticed that my Audi A2 makes a high-pitched noise when I accelerate. It seems to be coming from the engine area. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

The high-pitched noise you hear could be due to a worn out serpentine belt. It's responsible for powering several different components including the alternator, air conditioning, and power steering. You should have it checked and replaced if neccessary.

I had the same problem with my Audi A2. It turned out to be a faulty bearing in the water pump. I would recommend taking it to a mechanic to have it checked and replaced if needed.
