Why does my Audi A3's engine struggle to start when the weather is cold?

I've noticed that during the winter, my Audi A3 often struggles to start. This issue doesn't happen as frequently during the rest of the year. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

It is common for cars to experience difficulty starting in cold weather, as colder temperatures can cause the engine oil to thicken, making it harder for the engine to turn over. To help combat this issue, consider investing in a block heater, which can help warm up the engine and make starting easier.
