Why does my Audi 80's engine make a rattling noise when I start it?

I recently purchased an Audi 80 and noticed that it makes a loud rattling noise when I start the engine. This noise goes away after a few seconds. What could be causing this and is it something I should be concerned about?

This rattling noise could be caused by a loose or worn out belt or a problem with the timing chain. It's best to have a mechanic inspect the engine to determine the exact cause.

I had a similar issue with my Audi 80 and it turned out to be a faulty starter motor. I suggest taking your car to a certified Audi mechanic for a proper diagnosis.

If the rattling noise only lasts for a few seconds, it could be normal engine noise during start-up. However, if it persists or gets louder, it's best to have a professional check it out.
