What is the difference between Audi A4's Multitronic and S Tronic transmissions?

I'm considering purchasing an Audi A4 but I'm unsure about the different transmission options. Can someone explain the technical differences between the Multitronic and S Tronic transmissions?

A

The Multitronic transmission is a continuously variable transmission (CVT) while the S Tronic is a dual-clutch automatic transmission. The Multitronic offers smooth and seamless gear shifts, while the S Tronic provides faster and more responsive gear changes.

The Multitronic transmission uses a pulley system to adjust the gear ratios, while the S Tronic has two clutches that work together to shift gears. This results in a more efficient and dynamic driving experience with the S Tronic.
