How can I troubleshoot the MMI screen on my Audi A3?

I recently noticed that the MMI screen on my Audi A3 is not working properly. The touch screen seems unresponsive and certain features are not functioning as they should. Is there any troubleshooting steps I can take before bringing it to a mechanic?

First, try resetting the MMI system by pressing and holding the on/off button for 10 seconds. If that doesn't work, check the connection between the screen and the central control unit. It may have come loose over time. You can also try updating the software using an SD card.

I had a similar issue with my A3 and it turned out to be a faulty screen. Check your warranty to see if it can be replaced for free. If not, you can purchase a replacement screen and easily install it yourself following online tutorials.

Before trying any complicated solutions, simply clean the screen with a soft cloth and some screen cleaner. Oftentimes, build-up on the screen can interfere with the touch sensitivity. If that doesn't work, it may be a hardware issue that requires professional assistance.
