Why is my Audi A1's engine making a whirring noise?

I recently purchased a used Audi A1 and noticed that the engine is making a whirring noise when I accelerate. Any idea what could be causing this?

It sounds like your car's serpentine belt may be worn out. This could be caused by regular wear and tear or by a faulty tensioner. I recommend getting it checked and replaced by a professional mechanic.

Another possibility is that there may be an issue with the car's camshaft position sensor. If this sensor is failing, it can cause strange noises in the engine. It's best to have it diagnosed and replaced if necessary.
