Why is my 1992 Audi 80 producing white smoke from the exhaust?

I have recently noticed that my 1992 Audi 80 is producing white smoke from the exhaust. It only seems to happen when the engine is warmed up and it smells slightly sweet. Can anyone explain what could be causing this issue?

White smoke from the exhaust is usually an indication of coolant leaking into the combustion chamber. This can be caused by a blown head gasket, a cracked engine block, or a faulty intake manifold gasket. It is important to get this checked and fixed as soon as possible to avoid further damage to your engine.

Another possible cause of white smoke from the exhaust could be a clogged PCV valve. This can result in excessive oil consumption and ultimately lead to overheating and white smoke. Check the PCV valve and if it is clogged, replace it.
