Why does my Audi A6's engine make a loud clicking noise when starting?

I've noticed that when I start my Audi A6, the engine makes a very loud clicking noise that lasts for a few seconds before going away. Is this a cause for concern, or is it something normal for this model? Is there anything I can do to fix it?

This could be a sign of a faulty starter or a weak battery. I would recommend taking it to a mechanic to get it checked, as it is not normal for the Audi A6 to make such a loud clicking noise when starting.

I had the same issue with my Audi A6 and it turned out to be a loose battery cable. Have a mechanic tighten the connections and see if that solves the problem.

If the clicking noise is followed by the engine struggling to start, it could be due to a faulty ignition switch. You may want to get it checked and replaced by a professional.
