Why does my Audi A5 sound like a diesel engine?

I recently purchased a brand new Audi A5 and I noticed that the engine sounds like a diesel engine. Is this normal or should I be concerned? It's not a loud noise but it's definitely noticeable.

It is completely normal for Audi A5 models to make a diesel-like noise. This is due to the Direct Shift Gearbox technology that uses dual clutches instead of a traditional automatic transmission. It may sound slightly different, but the performance and efficiency of this technology is top-notch.

I had the same concern when I first got my Audi A5. After talking to a mechanic, I found out that it is just a characteristic of the vehicle and does not impact its performance whatsoever. No need to worry!
