What causes the gearbox-to-engine disconnect issue in the Audi R8?

I have been experiencing a persistent issue where the engine would suddenly disengage from the gearbox while driving. I have tried getting it fixed multiple times but it keeps recurring. I am wondering what could be causing this problem and what steps I can take to prevent it from happening again.

This issue is most commonly caused by a faulty clutch pressure plate.

It could also be due to a malfunctioning transmission control module. Get it checked by a certified mechanic.
