Why isn't my Audi A2 starting?

I have a 2006 Audi A2 and when I try to start the engine, nothing happens. The dashboard lights come on but the engine doesn't even attempt to start. What could be the issue?

First, check the battery to make sure it has enough charge. If the battery is fine, it could be a problem with the starter motor.

It could also be an issue with the ignition switch. Have it checked by a mechanic to diagnose the problem.
