Why is the brake pedal in my Audi 80 feeling spongy?

I've noticed that when I press down on the brake pedal in my Audi 80, it feels softer and less responsive than usual. What could be causing this issue?

This could be a sign that there is air in your brake lines. Bleeding the brakes can help remove any air bubbles and restore the pedal's responsiveness.

Check for any leaks in the brake system, such as a damaged brake hose or a faulty brake caliper. Leaks can cause a loss of brake fluid and result in a spongy pedal.

Worn brake pads can also cause a spongy pedal. If your brake pads are due for replacement, they may need to be changed to restore the pedal's firmness.
