Why is my Audi A4 engine making a ticking sound?

I recently noticed that my Audi A4's engine is making a ticking sound when I start the car. It seems to go away after a few minutes, but I'm concerned that it might be a sign of a bigger issue. What could be causing this and should I be worried?

The ticking sound you are hearing is most likely caused by a faulty lifter in your engine. This is a common issue in Audi A4s and can be fixed by a mechanic.

It could also be caused by low oil levels or dirty oil. I suggest checking your oil level and getting an oil change if it's been a while. This may solve the issue and prevent any further damage.
