Why is my Audi A3 making a grinding noise when I apply the brakes?

I've noticed that my 2019 Audi A3 is making a loud grinding noise whenever I press on the brakes. It started happening a few weeks ago and seems to be getting worse. Is this normal or do I need to have it checked out?

The grinding noise when you apply your brakes is definitely not normal and should be addressed as soon as possible. It could be an indication that your brake pads are worn out and need to be replaced. Continuing to drive with worn out brake pads can cause further damage and potentially put you in a dangerous situation. I would recommend taking your car to a certified mechanic to have it inspected and repaired if necessary.

I had the same issue with my Audi A3 a few months ago. It turned out to be a problem with the brake calipers. They had to be replaced, but luckily it was covered under warranty. My advice would be to take your car to an Audi dealership and have them take a look. They should be able to diagnose and fix the problem for you.

I've had this happen on multiple cars before, usually it's caused by debris getting stuck in the brakes. I would suggest taking your car to a car wash and using the high-pressure setting to clean out your brakes. If that doesn't work, it could be a more serious issue and you should get it checked out by a mechanic.
