Why is my Audi A3 making a clunking noise when I turn the steering wheel?

I recently purchased a used Audi A3 and have noticed that when I turn the steering wheel, there is a loud clunking noise coming from the front of the car. It seems to happen only when I am making sharp turns or going over bumps. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

Hi Jenna, this clunking noise could be due to a few different issues. It could be a problem with your steering system, such as worn out tie rod ends or a loose steering column. It could also be an issue with your suspension, like a worn out strut or damaged control arm. I would recommend taking your car to a mechanic for an inspection to determine the exact cause and get it fixed.

Hey Jenna, I had a similar issue with my Audi A3 and it turned out to be a loose ball joint in the front suspension. I would advise having your mechanic check this as well as other potential causes. It's important to get this fixed as soon as possible to avoid any further damage or safety hazards.
