Why is my Audi A2's engine making a clicking sound?

Whenever I start my Audi A2's engine, I hear a clicking noise. It's not too loud, but it's definitely noticeable. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?

It's likely that your engine's hydraulic lifters are malfunctioning. This can be caused by a number of factors, such as dirt/debris build-up or worn-out components. To fix this issue, you will need to have your lifters replaced by a mechanic.

Check your oil levels and see if they need to be topped off. Low oil levels can also cause clicking noises in your engine. If this doesn't solve the issue, it's possible that you have worn-out spark plugs or a faulty fuel pump. It's best to have a professional diagnose the problem.

Another common cause of clicking noises in engines is a loose or worn-out serpentine belt. This is an easy fix that you can do yourself! Just replace the belt if it's worn out or tighten it if it's loose.
