Why is my Audi A1's engine making a loud rattling noise?

I recently noticed that my Audi A1's engine is making a loud rattling noise. It seems to happen mostly when starting the car or when accelerating. What could be the cause and how can I fix it?

The most common cause of a rattling noise in an engine is a problem with the timing belt or chain. It could be worn out, loose, or misaligned. It's best to take your car to a mechanic for a proper diagnosis and replacement if necessary.

Another possible cause for the loud rattling noise could be an issue with the serpentine belt. Over time, it can become worn or loose, causing it to slip and make a noise. Have a professional inspect it and replace it if needed.

Low engine oil can also lead to a rattling noise as the metal components in the engine rub together without proper lubrication. Check your oil level and top it up if needed. If the noise persists, it may indicate a bigger issue and warrant a trip to the mechanic.
