Why is my 2012 Audi 80's engine making a ticking noise?

I recently purchased a used 2012 Audi 80 and have noticed that the engine makes a ticking noise when I accelerate. It seems to be coming from the top of the engine. What could be causing this and should I be concerned?

It's possible that your engine is low on oil or needs an oil change. This can lead to ticking noises due to lack of lubrication. Check your oil levels and schedule a maintenance check with a trusted mechanic.

It could be an issue with your valve lifters or cam followers. These components can wear out and cause ticking noises in the engine. Have a mechanic inspect these parts and replace any worn out components.

If you have an aftermarket exhaust system installed, it could be causing the ticking noise. Check for any loose or damaged components and have them repaired or replaced as needed.
