I have a 1990 Audi 80 that runs well, except for when I come to a full stop. As soon as I come to a complete stop, the engine starts to sputter and then stalls out completely. This only happens once the engine is at operating temperature and it seems like it happens more frequently in hotter weather. Any ideas on what could be causing this issue?
ReplyIt sounds like your engine may be experiencing stalling due to idle control issues. This can be caused by a faulty idle control valve, dirty throttle body, or a vacuum leak. I suggest having a mechanic check these components to see if they need to be cleaned or replaced.
Have you checked your fuel system? A clogged fuel filter or faulty fuel pump could be causing this stalling issue. It's always a good idea to perform regular maintenance on your vehicle to prevent these types of problems.
I had a similar issue with my Audi 80 and it turned out to be a faulty ignition coil. Have you noticed any loss of power or hesitation while driving? If so, it may be worth checking the ignition coil and replacing it if necessary.
