Why doesn't the Audi A8 have a V8 engine?

I was looking at the specifications of the Audi A8 and noticed that it only has a V6 engine option. Is there a particular reason for this?

The 2021 Audi A8 actually does offer a V8 engine option, but it's not available in all markets. You may need to check with your local dealership to see if it's available in your area. However, the V6 engine in the A8 still provides plenty of power and performance.

The trend in the automotive industry towards smaller, more efficient engines has resulted in many luxury models, including the Audi A8, opting for V6 engines instead of V8s. This allows for better fuel efficiency without sacrificing too much power.

Audi has also been investing in developing and improving their turbocharged engines, which means they are able to achieve similar levels of power and performance with a V6 engine compared to a V8 engine. This ultimately benefits the consumer in terms of cost and efficiency.
