Why does the fuel pump in my Audi 80 keep failing?

I have a 1990 Audi 80 and I keep experiencing issues with the fuel pump. It has failed twice in the past year and I am wondering if there is a common reason for this or if I am just unlucky.

It's possible that the fuel pump you are using is not compatible with your car model. Check with a mechanic or do some research to find a pump that is specifically made for the Audi 80.
