Why does the Audi A8 have a four-cylinder engine instead of a V6 or V8?

I've noticed that other luxury sedans in the same class as the Audi A8 have V6 or V8 engines, whereas the A8 only has a four-cylinder. Is there a reason for this difference?

The Audi A8's decision to use a four-cylinder engine is a strategic move to increase fuel efficiency and reduce emissions. Additionally, this engine still provides ample power for a smooth driving experience. In my experience as a mechanic, I have seen that the A8's engine is just as capable, if not more so, than larger engines in other luxury sedans.

The four-cylinder engine in the Audi A8 is part of Audi's effort to transition towards more sustainable and environmentally friendly vehicles. As a car enthusiast and owner of an Audi A8, I can attest to the fact that the engine is still powerful and delivers a smooth and enjoyable driving experience.

The use of a four-cylinder engine in the Audi A8 is also a cost-saving measure for consumers. The smaller engine means that the car is more affordable, while still maintaining the luxurious features and performance expected from an Audi. As a car salesman, I have seen that many customers appreciate this aspect of the A8.
