Why does my Audi A6 make a high-pitched whining noise while accelerating?

I have noticed that my Audi A6 makes a high-pitched whining noise whenever I accelerate. It seems to be coming from the engine area. Can anyone explain why this is happening and if it's a cause for concern?

Based on my experience with an Audi A6, this high-pitched whining noise is most likely caused by a worn out serpentine belt. It's an easy fix and won't cause any major issues, but it's best to replace it as soon as possible to avoid any other problems.

I had the same issue with my Audi A6 and it turned out to be a faulty power steering pump. It can be a bit pricey to replace, but it's definitely worth it for a smoother and quieter driving experience.
