Why does my Audi A5's engine make a ticking noise on start-up?

I have noticed that my Audi A5 makes a ticking noise for a few seconds on start-up. Is this something I should be concerned about and how can I fix it?

The ticking noise on start-up is usually caused by the engine's hydraulic lifters losing pressure, which is normal and not a cause for concern. However, if the noise persists for more than a few seconds, it could be a sign of a larger issue and you should take your car to a mechanic to have it checked.

To prevent the ticking noise, make sure you are using the recommended oil for your Audi A5 and change it regularly. This will help maintain the proper pressure in the hydraulic lifters and reduce the noise.

D

One way to combat the ticking noise is to let your car idle for a few minutes before driving it, giving the lifters time to build pressure. This can also help prevent any premature wear and tear on your engine.
