Why does my Audi A5's engine make a strange whirring noise when I accelerate?

I've noticed that when I press down on the accelerator, my Audi A5's engine starts to make a loud whirring noise. It doesn't seem to affect performance, but it's definitely noticeable. Is this something I should be concerned about?

It's most likely caused by an issue with your car's air conditioning compressor. The compressor can make a noise when it gets older and starts to fail. It's not a critical issue, but you should have it checked by a mechanic in case it needs to be replaced.

Your car's serpentine belt might be worn or damaged, causing the whirring noise when accelerating. It might be a good idea to have it checked and replaced if necessary.
