Why does my Audi A4 have a rough idle at cold start?

I have noticed that my Audi A4 has a rough idle for a few minutes after starting it when the engine is cold. It smooths out after a few minutes and drives normally, but it is concerning. Does anyone know what could be causing this issue and how to fix it?

It is likely that you have a faulty idle air control valve. This valve controls the amount of air that enters the engine during idle and can become clogged or stuck, resulting in a rough idle. It is recommended to have it checked and replaced if necessary.

Another possible cause could be a dirty or worn out mass air flow sensor. This sensor measures the amount of air entering the engine and sends that information to the engine control unit. If it is dirty or worn, it can affect the engine's performance. Try cleaning or replacing the mass air flow sensor to see if it improves the idle.
