Why does my Audi A3's engine make a loud whirring noise?

I recently purchased a brand new Audi A3 and noticed that whenever I turn on the engine, there is a loud whirring noise coming from under the hood. Does anyone know why this is happening and if it's a cause for concern?

It could be a problem with the engine's cooling fan or the fan belt. Have a mechanic check it out to determine the exact cause and get it fixed.
