Why does my Audi A3 make a grinding noise when I brake?

I've noticed a grinding sound coming from my Audi A3 whenever I press on the brakes. What could be causing this and should I be concerned?

It's likely that your brake pads have worn down and need to be replaced. This can cause the metal backing plate to grind against the rotor, resulting in the noise you are hearing. It's important to get this checked and fixed as soon as possible to prevent further damage to your brakes and ensure safe driving.

Another possible cause could be a buildup of brake dust on the rotors, which can also create a grinding noise. Try using a brake cleaner spray to clean your brakes and see if that helps. If the noise persists, it's best to take your car to a mechanic for a thorough inspection.
