Why does my Audi A3 engine make a knocking noise?

I recently purchased a used Audi A3 and have noticed a knocking noise coming from the engine. It only happens when the engine is running and gets louder when I accelerate. Has anyone else experienced this issue? What could be causing it?

Most likely, the knocking noise is due to low oil levels or poor quality oil. It's important to check your oil regularly and use the recommended oil for your Audi A3. If the noise persists, it could be a sign of a more serious engine problem.

I had a similar issue with my Audi A3 and it turned out to be a faulty fuel injector. I had it replaced and the knocking noise disappeared. It's worth getting it checked out by a mechanic to be sure.
