Why does my Audi A1's engine make a ticking noise when I start it?

I recently purchased a used Audi A1 and noticed that when I start the engine, there is a ticking noise coming from under the hood. It goes away after a few minutes but comes back every time I start the car. Is this normal or should I have it checked by a mechanic?

It is normal for some engines to make a ticking noise when first starting up. This is usually due to the oil not yet reaching all parts of the engine. However, if the noise persists for more than a few minutes, it is recommended to have it checked by a mechanic to ensure there are no underlying issues.

I have had the same issue with my Audi A1 and after doing some research, I found out that it is a common problem with this model. It is caused by a faulty lifter and can usually be fixed by replacing it. I suggest bringing it to a trusted mechanic for further diagnosis.
